DO I NEED AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER – AUSTRALIA?

Before you make a Visa application, we recommend that you seek further information and advice from a legal practitioner.  We are seeing a consistant trend of applications being refused, due to mistakes made in the intial applications, due to poor and or misleading advice.   If you are going to use a lawyer, then it would be prudent for you to check that the firm or practitioner is registered with a state or territory legal professional body.  From time to time, we have had clients advise us that they had been mislead as to the credentials of a firm or agency.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR VISA IS REFUSED?

Should you have a Visa or Citizenship application refused or cancelled by the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) (formally known as the Department of Immigration and Border Protection), Corsers can assist either you or your sponsor/employer with an Appeal to the Administrative Appeal Tribunal (the Tribunal), who are independent from the Department to review your Visa refusal decision. We will guide and assist you or your sponsor/employer to prepare a thorough application, submissions and represent you at the appeal hearing.  It is crucial to carefully review the decision of your refusal and determine if there are merits, address any concerns and issues before either resubmitting your application (if possible), or to make an appeal application.

If you have a decision from the Tribunal that you are not satisfied with, then we can assist you with an application to the Courts or to the Minister to intervene, also known as a MINISTERIAL INTERVENTION APPLICATION, depending on the decision and your circumstances.

Corsers will guide you through the requirements and options in a timely manner. We will keep you informed and provide you with clear guidance, realistic expectations so you can make an informed decision.
