Nadia Shivarev, Patrick Quan and Karley Thomas provide services and advice to individuals, small and large businesses in commercial and property dealings, whether transactional, dispute resolution or litigation, including immigration, citizenship and in other specialist areas like wills, estates and inheritance claims.

NADIA SHIVAREV

Nadia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Adelaide in 2002 and was admitted to practice in 2003. Nadia first commenced as a Partner at Corsers in 2008.

Nadia practices in commercial litigation and has represented clients in the Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court and as instructing solicitor at the Federal Court and High Court of Australia.

Nadia has experience in most areas of commercial law, including property and business settlements, leases, wills and estate (probate) and contracts.

Nadia speaks the Chinese (Mandarin) language and welcomes clients from the Chinese community and abroad.

Nadia is a member of the Law Society of South Australia, Australia China Business Council (SA) and Hong Kong Australia Business Association (SA).

PATRICK QUAN

Patrick graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Studies in 2001 and a Bachelor of Laws in 2003 as part of a double degree. Patrick completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2004, which was granted by the Law Society of South Australia. Patrick was admitted to practice Law in South Australia in 2004 and registered as a Migration Agent in 2006. In 2008, Patrick was entered into the registry of the High Court of Australia.

After employment with a local Migration practice, an associate and Patrick established QH & Partners, which was devoted to the practice of Immigration and Citizenship Law. In 2009, in association with a local Family Law firm Patrick also assisted clients with Family Law matters.

In 2012, QH & Partners was rebranded as QS Lawyers with a new partner providing Commercial and Migration legal services. Due to demand, Patrick also provided legal representation on minor criminal, civil, traffic and family law matters.

Patrick has a broad range of legal experience, however, his core practice area is Australian Immigration and Citizenship Law. He has for more than 18 years, successfully assisted and advised individuals, companies and businesses in the Hospitality Industry, Engineering, International Consulting, Horticultural, Community, Religious Bodies, Automotive Imports, Migration Agencies and Legal firms on Migration Applications, Appeals to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia. Patrick also provides advice to local and interstate migration agencies and lawyers on visa applications and complicated migration matters and Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) enquiries.

Patrick is a Gold Alliance member with the Law Society of South Australia, a member with Migration Alliance and was registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority OMARA (Former Migration Agents Registration Number (MARN) Number 0635149) Current Migration Legal Practitioner Number (LPN: 5511005).

Patrick has been rated by Three Best Rated as one of the Best Immigration Lawyers in Adelaide for Since 2018 to 2023 and was listed on Doyles Guide in 202120222023, and 2024 as one of the leading and recommended South Australian Immigration Lawyers/solicitors practising within the areas of immigration, migration, visa and citizenship matters in the SA legal market. 

In addition, Patrick is also listed on Lawyer Source and the firm has been listed on APAC under Leaders in Property & Migration Law  – South Australia Client Service Excellence Award 2021, 2022 and 2023. 

Patrick can speak Vietnamese and has in the past sponsored local Vietnamese Community events. 

KARLEY THOMAS

Karley is a Lawyer who is highly experienced in Commercial and Residential property transactions.  Her qualifications include a Certificate IV and Advanced Diploma in Conveyancing, a Bachelor of laws and has been admitted to practice Law in South Australia.  Karley specialises in property settlements and other areas of conveyancing including land divisions and community divisions and contracts.

Karley originates from Millicent in the State’s South East and commenced her career at a country law firm in Millicent giving her experience in rural property transactions.

Karley is a member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers and Law Society of South Australia

COURTNEY LUDEWIGS

ASSOCIATE

Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in Advanced Japanese Studies) at the University of Adelaide in 2021. Courtney commenced as a Graduate Lawyer at Corsers in early 2022 and completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the College of Law. Courtney was then admitted to practice law in August 2022 and has continued at Corsers in the role of Solicitor.

So far Courtney practises broadly in commercial litigation, including disputes relating to trusts, leases, real property and beyond, and also wills and estates from the point of drafting wills, probate and administration, and to disputes relating to Inheritance Family Provision claims and the validity of wills in the Supreme Court.

Courtney also assists with immigration including visa applications with the Department of Home Affairs, and appeals of visa refusals at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court levels. Courtney has experience and a particular interest in assisting with difficult migration cases involving Waivers Requests of No Further Stay Conditions and Ministerial Intervention Requests. 

Courtney is a member with the Law Society of South Australia.

JENNIE VARVARIS

SENIOR REGISTERED CONVEYANCER

Jennie is a seasoned Registered Conveyancer since 1992, bringing over 30 years of experience in the Property Industry with accomplishments across many different roles and disciplines in Conveyancing, Business, Property Development and Real Estate.

As a former Conveyancing Business Owner, Developer, and Real Estate Agent, she offers unique advantages to clients and is known for her knowledge, personal integrity, and exceptional customer service resulting in many repeat clients.

Jennie specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing, including Torrens Title and Community Title divisions, complex Community Plan amendments and matrimonial home and family transfers.

KATHRYN TRONCONE

LEGAL SECRETARY

Kathie joined Corsers in August 2021 with some 20 years’ experience as a legal secretary. Kathie completed a Paralegal Studies course in 2007 to enable her to better assist her team with legal matters. Kathie is hard-working and very dedicated to her role as a legal secretary. Kathie always strives to go that one step further to better her knowledge and is always willing to take on challenges.
